Relation of Parental Stress and Children’s Tooth Decay

It sounds a little strange, but there was a recent study conducted in which the team of scientists found that parental stress and tooth decay in children is directly linked. The data was collected from various dental clinics and statistics were organised.

The children who were suffering from most dental problems belonged to the lower income group. The parents of these children were highly stressed due to the fact that they could not afford the expensive dental treatments for their kids.

Children with tooth decay mostly belonged to single parents. It was found that when their child got dental treatment, the parents were less stressed and felt more secure because they were able to provide better health care for their children.

It is natural for parents to go through high levels of stress when they are unable to afford something like dental health for their children because they need it the most during their growing years. It has also been noted that parents who do not visit dentists on a regular basis, their children also do not have sufficient dental visits required to maintain good oral health.

Another important aspect of this research was to provide data to the dentists to make sure that they are providing affordable dental care plans for children in order to minimise the stress levels of parents.

This study will definitely revolutionise the way of how we think and putting the thought in front of helping people, reduce stress levels and provide better quality of life.

Note: This article is to bring awareness both among patients and dentists in reading so that they can work mutually to bring about a better future and a healthy generation. We need to feel about each other more than anything else.
