Braces, Inman aligners and invisalign; brace yourself for a new innovation

Braces aren`t meant to be fun or indeed good looking, that is until now. The old NHS brace is going into retirement as the latest innovations are becoming more popular. The Inman and the Invisalign braces are available now at a price that won`t break the bank, and actually do the job a lot quicker. The different braces are designed for different ways to do the job, so let’s take a look at them and the process.

The braces themselves come in two designs and that’s because they both do different jobs, The Inman brace is designed for the front teeth only, all the workings are buried within the brace itself, so it doesn`t need any fixing onto the teeth. It is completely mobile and clear in colour, so it can be taken out at any time. You have to wear it for 20 hours a day minimum, but for eating, cleaning and sleeping you can simply take it out even though it may sometimes go over the minimum period. It has a bar that runs across the front so if you are a busy executive and want to remove it for meetings or lunch, it’s a handy brace.

The Invisalign is designed for the front and back teeth and has all its workings on the inside, it is also so clear, as the name suggests, that it is marketed as the invisible brace.  They both work by manipulating your teeth into a different position and sometimes this can be a quick process lasting little more than a few months; however it will usually take 8-10 months in extreme cases. As your teeth are moved, your orthodontist will be making the next brace to be fitted by your dentist, remember that I told you earlier that all the co-ordinates are worked out before hand. The blood flow is also altered during this procedure, and that allows new bone to form on the jaw line. This new bone forms behind the teeth and makes sure that the tooth is kept in its new position, and doesn`t fall back into its old position.

I don`t know about you, but to me that`s the best of science, cosmetic dentistry and computer programming working together for the common good. Your dentist will need to be consulted in the first instance, but this method of solving teeth alignment is now extremely popular and successful.
